the part in question is on the lower intake manifold for my 351W. It sits right behind the water outlet and thermostat. It comes up out of the manifold and has a metal pipe going to the heater core and another smaller hose that goes to the throttle body. There's a sensor that sits in it as well. i don't know the actual name for it, but the parts guy at the Ford dealer knew what I was talking about and quoted me a price of................$293.91! That's not even with the sensor, just the stupid fitting! I tried Autozone, Napa and Advance Auto and they all said the same thing. Don't have it, can't get it. They couldn't find the part anywhere. It'll be a cold day in hell when I pay $300 for that little thing. I only paid $500 for the whole dang truck! Anyway, I scoured the U-pull a part in town and didn't have any luck. They're the only junk yard in town that'll let you out in the yard and the others said they wouldn't have that part. So, I think tomorrow I'll go to Home Depot and try to fabricate something to work until I can find one somewhere. So, anyone know the actual name for this particular part? Thanks!
My "Tee". Good to know. Yeah, $293.91 according to the parts guy at the dealer. He said that he knew exactly wht I was talking about and had it right there in the book. Even he was surprised at the price. I think his exact words were "well, I don't know why they've got it priced like this but...it's $293.91". I didn't believe it but he assured me that was correct. Yeah, I was figuring $15 to $20. maybe up to $40 being a part from the dealer.....but $300!?! Ridicules. Anyhow, thanks for the answer. Tomorrow I'll maybe call another Ford dealer somewhere and see if I get the same quote.
Alright, finally got the pics in my gallery. Been busy working on the Bronco. Got my new heads installed, rods, rocker arms, lower intake and injectors and fuel rail. Tried for three dang hours to get the exhaust manifold to bolt back up and failed. Got 5 out of 16 bolts on and that was it. tried jacking the exhaust, crowbar, push pull you name it. ordered some headers last night from Summit, so just waiting on parts now....
What was done to fix it? Did they find a replacement part from a source other than Ford? I hope my home made replacement works, but if not I'd like to have a back-up plan that doesn't include me spending $300!
