will not start
2000 V6 3.0
battery test-OK
New plugs wires
Was hard to start, at times, before where she turned over very slowly, sometimes not at all, sometimes fine.
One day she briefly started smoking, but started right after, and I hadn't had a problem for days.
Today nothing. I turn the key, no noise no nothing.
What is wrong with this thing.

when I opened the hood to see where the smoke was coming from, it was not smoking anymore. I had someone start it again so I could watch, and no smoke, she turned over and started right up.
So tempermental and unpredictable.

Also the negative battery cable at the engine end is not rusty and checked for tightness? Check the plastic insulator on the negative leads coming off of the battery for any signs of heat bubbling or meltdown.
I sometimes use good booster cables to by-pass the negative or positive battery cables when I suspect they are at fault.
