So I had my trailer hooked up and we were driving on the highway at normal speeds of 60-70mph, no major hills or anything, just generally flat. At one point about 100 miles into the trip I accelerated slightly as there was an incline on the road. The truck made an odd sound kinda like a loud sucking noise but no loss of power or anything but I noticed the boost pressure needle was buried to the right for a split second. I looked at my phone as I have the Torque app installed and it showed my boost pressure spiked to 39psi. Everything returned to normal and the whole episode lasted no more than 2-3 seconds. About 45 mins later it happened again, but we were on the flat just cruising when the truck seemed like it was hesitating a bit and the boost guage was swinging all over the place despite no throttle input changes and it had spiked again to 39psi.
I pulled into a rest area let the truck idle down to cool off and then shut it down for about 10 mins while we got some coffees. Restarted the truck and drove off and nothing further on the balance of the trip (another 300 miles) or on the return a few days later.
So I'm wondering if this was a random fluke kinda thing or a sign of things to come? Has anyone else experienced similar or can someone give me an idea of some things to check out to be proactive?
