I’m having troubles with my fuel grade on my 79 f150. I pulled the wire connector off of the sending unit and basically shorted the connector. This made the garage move so I figured the unit was bad. I bought a new unit and installed it. It was working fine and now it’s not again. Did the shorting test and it worked but when is all hooked up, the garage doesn’t move. Oh yeah the tank is at least half full. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Is it just one wire to the sender? If so, then it has to be positive. That means that if your tank isn't grounded to the chassis, (because of insulated straps) that the sender won't work. Just a shot-in-the-dark theory.
