Got an 89 crew cab f350, and I’ve replaced the RR door lock actuator, but it doesn’t seem strong enough to move the latch consistently (usually isn’t strong enough to even try). Bought it off of amazon. Was wondering where others have found a good strong replacement that didn’t break the bank? The one from oreillys is like $200 or something if I remember right, and if that’s what it needs then that door just won’t lock 🤣
How hard is it to unlock with the key?
I would suspect the cheap Amazon actuator
Seldom do I see lock mechanisms get sticky or gummed up
I would pull the panel back off, disconnect the actuator and see how hard it is to move the lock linkage in the latch
The junkyard is where to get a good working actuator, most last 40 years or more

the rear doors don’t have a key lock, just the rod and the actuator. The rod is kinda stiff to move, but I don’t think it’s stiff enough to cause this. Could be wrong, though. I have already tried cleaning out the door latch/lock mechanism and lubricated thoroughly
