All that's still ASSUMING the information list in a Carfax report is correct,,,,which it isn't.

Even if it said " X maintenance, performed at Y dealership, at Z mileage" its still a toss up of that happened . The information is Carfax is wrong as often as it is correct.

There are a few YouTube channels I watch were they buy crashed cars from auctions and rebuild them. I guess they have dealer accounts or something because they often show the Carfax reports on their latest rebuild project as part of the video. And very often milage reported jumps backwards, services are listed as being performed that are impossible on that particular vehicle (like a front differential service on a 2WD or spark plugs on a diesel). Blatantly false stuff like lines up with the kind of wrong information on the two cars I'd bought brand new and knew the full history of, and it makes anything else on the report unbelievable.
