I'm putting in a FRAM febreeze carbon cabin filter...
Is it hard to do the install on my own ?
It's 3 screws under the glove box in the housing to loosen and then reach in and do a simple swap of cabin air filters ?
This is the one:
I showed you what most people with 97 - 03 (04 Heritage) F150's have to do to get a cabin air filter installed. Sounds like you have something different or special. No idea what you're working with, even though you're in the 97-03 sub-forum.
The green arrow is the tab you use to pull the filter out-bottom end. On the other side on the bottom (yellow arrows), the sides are cut to allow the filter to bend. You will need it to bend to get the last bit in as it won’t fit otherwise and it may break if you ignore that. Don’t ask how I know.
Let us know when you get your box cutter out and create that opening.
Thanks for the feedback!
I can't remove the cover to even begin cutting with a box cutter to get the filter in.
5/16" won't work to remove the screws and the tech by the looks of it, kind of bent it the plastic cover.
It looks almost pulled down.
