transmission mount

transmission mount
On my 78 F-100 i have a T-18 and a NP 205 matched up to it. The peice between the two units has a broke ear on it, which bolts to the tranny mount. I bought the truck this way, and saw that yesterday. What it that peice called, goes directly between the transmission and the transfer case. The mount is fine, but when ever i take of, the transmission twists, and off comes my clutch linkage. How much is that part? Can iget it new, or do i have to go to the junkyard?

I think you will find it called either an "extension housing" or a "tail shaft adapter".

I am working on the same truck you have and I am having the same issues the previous owner just sat the tc mount on the crossmember without this plate and soon wore hole thru c'member. I also am on the hunt for one to place on the new crossmember after I rebuild TC! Picked up used crossmember at broncograveyard.com for $40 since I live in Michigan drove there to get it.. this place has everything for f-150 try there good luck
