axle problems

i am new here and have recently bought a 76 F250 4x4 with a bad front axle.the previous owner ran it with a bad u joint and ovaled the cup holes. i have tried ford and they say they are no longer available and all the scrap yards around here don't have any 4x4's.where might i be able to get an axle for my truck, also what other axles will work model and year wise to interchange with mine , thanks for any help you can provide

Hello- welcome to FTE

You can find lots of interchange info here with a search. There are many dealers on the web with axles for your truck. Many of them are listed in the back of 4-wheel magazines. There are also links in my gallery to parts suppliers.

Are you talking about the yoke being bad? What do you mean by cup holes? The cup holes for the u-joint on the drive shaft, on the yoke?
