Hello, I just got the FORScan working not the best it seems as if the connection is bad, but I was able to pull these codes.
P0046 / P0673 / P1000 / U1262 / B1352 / P0500 / U2015 AND U2016 / B1342.
Those two last groups are serious.
I just had the PCM repaired a year ago one month to make a year, 785 dollars. if anyone knows a better price on the market, please, let me know.
One thing is when people mess with the driver's side battery, they remove the battery plastic cover, which is really a PCM cover. Then if/when the degas bottle vents coolant, it can get on the PCM connectors.
Also, heat is not good for electronics, so I suppose excessive engine heat can cause problems as well.
And age. Our trucks are getting up there. The seals on the PCM can shrink, and some humidity can get in there. But electronics have a life span, which has a bell curve.
Mark's point about the shield missing on so many driver batteries, leading to the potential of connector corrosion. AGMs help reduce this concern, and so do batteries like mine, where I've never seen terminal post leakage and my vents go to a nipple on the short side of the battery where a rubber hose can connect and vent away from the upper engine compartment. Hence, I don't use that cover.
