Hood spear fasteners…
Morning, my 1951 M1 is a 5 star deluxe and I’m looking for the fasteners to attach the chrome spears to hood. I have 6 of the large spring type but the smaller spears had plastic pushin fasteners. Does anyone have a suggestion on where I mite find the plastic type or exactly what came stock?
I found a pic with part numbers but got nowhere with them. Getting close on finishing the Merc, so many things you don’t think about.

Plastic clips would be incorrect. All of the spears used the spring type clips, just in various sizes. It might be hard to find the exact, correct type, but there are many different types that can be made to work, and you can even make your own if you're handy from a machine screw and small square of sheet metal.

Somewhere about 2012 someone on here researched these clips and found AV1256 fit the 5 Star Extra trim.
I try to save these kind of lists when they come out, especially this one as I needed some too. I know 51panelman was involved but didn't save who the author was.
