New - again
We recently retired and as part of gearing up for the easy life, I replaced an aging small pickup with a 2024 F250 XLT Godzilla.
I'm an avid upland bird hunter, so my retirement job is chauffeuring bird dogs around during the fall and winter. Public hunting lands and lease roads need a 4x4 with a little clearance, there is hunting gear and dog kennels to haul round, with major highway miles needed to get there, so we want to travel in comfort. I have added an A.C.E. camper shell and have done some bird dog centric mods. I also shelled out a ridiculous amount of $$ to Ford for the trailer backup camper and TPMS harness, so that when towing the wife's new travel trailer, it all integrated into the dash display.
I strayed from the Ford fold for a 7 years, when I bought a Taco...I regretted it from almost the beginning, but at the time it was the closest thing to a real pickup that would fit in the garage (HOA requirement). Toyota makes decent vehicles and the Taco was capable enough off-road, but it was too F*ing small...I felt like I was riding in a sardine can.
Did I mention how nice it is to be back in a REAL TRUCK!
