I would just throw towels or something over everything else and spray away personally.

Tape it off, paper, aluminum foil, clear plastic wrap... it all works.

Take care with injector boss.

In places that it’s hard to tape, I have used light grease and a fine paint brush to apply a light coat so the paint will not stick. Just wipe off when your done.
