rear end
I have a 85 F150 and the gears are 3:55's. Will a Mustang limited slip unit work in my truck?

should as long as the splines are the same. I think your 8.8 has 35 spline axles. I heard most mustangs have 28 spline axles

No it won't because Mustang 8.8s have 28 spline axles and most truck 8.8s have 31 spline axles.

Where would be a good place (and cheap) to get a limited slip unit for my truck? My rear end is a 8.8 because the 9" has a hog head and this is a rear inspection plate. Any help?

well depending on a couple things. Whats the gvwr rating, whether its 4x4, what year, and appearance. Also look for a tag on the cover.
