Has anyone ever updated the ECM PAT system without changing the VIN?

From one ECM to the other. Otherwise it will never start.

From one ECM to the next one. Otherwise it will never start. Someone claims it can be bypassed. However they refuse to respond🙄.

Oh, so you are wanting to replace one with another then. More like program the replacement?

Might need to see a dealer?

Forscan can program PATS in vehicles in your model year range. But it is complicated and many users get tripped up. You will need a paid Forscan license (about $30) and then learn how to use Forscan.

The instructions are long and there are multiple forum topics you should read.

I have never done this and reading the various forum posts shows how difficult it can be....but it is possible if you follow instructions and use the recommended Forscan adapter (about $130).

The one I have says that it's not compatible with my truck. Thanx by the way.
