my light quit working, purchased a new one and it also won’t work. Is there a re-set on this somewhere? Could it have blown the fuse and if so is it only on its own separate fuse? Everything else seems to be working fine.
I believe these led lights are a mercury switch so they should shut themselves off and on according to hood position … mine never coming on …
That’s next step… should have started there rather than buy a $20 bulb!! lol
i did do some additional on line searching and apparently there’s a bulb for driver side placement (mine is this, 2017) and newer trucks have passenger side bulb/placement. And as luck would have it ford only is listing the newer bulb!! Geezzzz
These lights are very sophisticated, I installed one on the passenger side to compliment the one on the drivers side. As it turned out, I had it upside down (180*) in the mounting, ....so try mounting yours 180 degrees of what it was from factory. I'm not sure where the sensor is but the small circuit board on the lamp is what makes the difference to turn on. Plus my hood has to be open all the way for it to illuminate, so its not a basic led.
Well tested the two different lights and they do have opposite triggering sensors in them.
Here’s the crazy part … my original light wasn’t burned out… it was being timed out by vehicle. Opened door to “wake it up” and light worked!! Stayed on for about 10 minutes before timing itself out/off …. Hopefully my stupidity is a benefit for others… ha ha
