I just did some work on the truck. 2000 ex. 7.3. New lees power steering and a sweeting hydroboost. New rear calipers. New pads all around. Flush the brake fluid. All seemed good. Few test drives. Today about 8 miles away all 4 wheels are locked up. The pads caught fire even. Idk why all 4 would lock up though. Any thoughts? Thanks. Supposed to leave for vacation in two days with the truck.... Ive had brakes lock up before but the drag was different. The truck was working so hard. I pulled over and all 4 rotors were red. it got progressively worse to the point of the truck barely being able to go. I got towed home. When I got there, the wheels were no longer locked up. Brakes felt normal again. although I know I have to replace calipers / rotors / pads at the least.
all Teflon / SS brake lines. There was no issue like this before the work done. Just had a week hydro boost and steering pump so I replaced them both. I will pull the master to see if the hydro push rod is adjustable
Start the truck and work the brakes best if the wheels are off the ground to see if they drag. If they drag loosen the MC hold down bolts and see if they release. Have to isolate but on a would guess I'd say adjustment between MC and hydroboost is wrong.
