91 f150 4x4 problem

When the manual hubs are locked in but only in 2wd no problem, but when in 4wd hi or lo it feels like the tires or axels are slipping then grabbing then slipping ect. This only happens when turning. it all seems to work fine when going straight. does any one out there know what this might be?
Thanks for any help

If i understand you right that is normal it is just the binding of all four wheels trying to rotate under power as you turn in 4wd, but if it is really bad, it could be a host of problems, u-joints, tie rod ends etc.

I appreciate your response. any help is good. I was also thinking u-joints but I didn't think it could be tie rods if it does'nt do it in 2wd. Could it be tie rods? also it does do it really bad.
Thanks

If you feel like it pull the axles out and check the u-joints, but I would say chances are it is normal

If you're driving on pavement in 4x4 it's going to do it pretty bad, there's a lot of pressure there. What kind of surface are you driving on when it's "crowhopping"?
