Someone attempting to steal very expensive tail lights that contain cross-traffic radar units?

I doubt an STX had BLIS. Lariat? Sure.

I guess someone could have mistaken them for having BLIS (doubtful if they have practice at thievery), but current trends towards cheapness make me think they just fell apart.

They are supposed to be held by two screws each

Some STXs will have LED tail lights with BLIS if it is optioned that way. Over tightened screws? When were the bulbs last changed? Morimoto makes some nice LED replacements, that accept OEM BLIS sensors, at a somewhat reasonable price, if you're interested in new ones. Theft of OEM LED tail lights is a huge problem. That's why I peeled the BLIS decals off of mine, in the hope that a potential thief wont readily identify them. So far, so good.

Where did he go? We take our time to try to help some people but they just disappear. I think that's kind of rude.

Happens on every Forum I'm on. The good news is, if it was a decent question, and it gets answered well, it likely will help others at a future date. The Forum will still get ad traffic, and someone might get an answer on the spot.

Good to hear that he's healing up well.

How did you deal with your tail light issues?

Thank you.

Thank you for asking about my Father. He is doing well.
I replaced my Taillights with Morimoto lights.
I reached out to my Dealership and they stated that they are seeing some these Taillight Failures.

Just what was broken? The locating pins? The screw holes stripped out?
Have Morimoto XB Gen2 tails on mine, worth every cent IMO.

I've seen some break at the tabs from stress over the years. They don't have the best designed mounting system. I had to remove one once to mount the tailgate dampener. I thought for sure the tail light was going to break, as the locating tabs were in their holes so tight.

But if or when they do break, get stolen, or fail, I will replace them with Morimotos, which look as good as OEM, and are less than half the price. And if the sensors get stoeln with the lights, or fail, I will just delete BLIS.
