Good afternoon all, I have 13 F350 SD 4x4 dually. Looking to put tires on it. It calls for 245 75 17 , I don’t want to replace the wheels. I plan on putting a 2” lift to level the front. I’d like to go taller on the tires, not sure if they will rub. Also my biggest concern is the rear wheels sidewalls rubbing with a load. I’ll be carrying a 17k lb 5th wheel. The PO carried a 5th wheel but I don’t know the size, I can’t ask, he passed away.
First I wouldn't raise the front because when you put the pin weight from a 17K 5th on the back the rear will settle so the truck will sit level but it you raise the front 2" you will be going up hill.
As far as the tires you will have to be carefully going much wider because of the clearance between the rears. Our 16.4K trailer with 3600 in the pin will cause the bulge some just sitting still and I'm sure when hitting bumps in the road it would be worse.

thanks, I was wanting to lift the front just to level truck when not towing. I don’t think I’ll go wider in the rear. I do have bags on the rear but I’d rather be safe than sorry.
I have bags in the rear of ours but the best that they will do is bring it back to level. Our truck with the trailer fully loaded grosses at 11680, normally I have 40 psi in them to stop it from bouncing going over rough roads. I also have a onboard compressor so I can vary the pressure going down the road. Ford like most manufacturers softens the first couple of inches of travel to help the empty ride so the bags help stop the sage.
