The VA hospital here in SF and Palo Alto are state of the art with technology, and they have helicopter pads. SF has a ton of food programs where you will have too much food. Not that I am trying to get you local so that I can take your excess pantry items, or draft you into a libertarian.
Good idea. You wouldn't even need AC in either PA or SF. A bonus would be that there is a lot of public transportation in SF.

PG&E has informed us that the power will go out from 8pm Thursday the 10th until 8am Friday the 11. No AC, no TV, no computer. Not even a fan. They will be replacing an underground line that goes across the street to a neighborhood whose power keeps getting interrupted. So, I have a portable generator lined up for that time frame. However, I just paid the rent today and the manager says her notice from PG&E says the power will only be out for 30 minutes Thursday night, and again Friday morning. I can live with that. Won't even need to borrow the generator. I hope I can get confirmation as to which one it will be beforehand.

Thanks. I keep forgetting to check for new members. I have approved all nine of them. Hopefully they will show themselves in the chat as I failed to write down all their names before hitting approve.
I also deleted everyone from the chapter who has not posted since 2019.

Happy 4th of July Nor-Cal!

Harbor Freight has a 1400-watt generator on sale for $429. Too bad they won't let me get a HF credit card to buy it. That is a lot cheaper than the $2,999 4Patriot.com wants for their 2,500-watt generator, which comes with two 100-watt solar panels (this weekend only of course). However, that one is not gas powered. Which I would prefer. But I can't afford a $429 dollar one, no way I am going to be able to swing a $2,999 dollar one. I checked the forecast for next Thursday; it is supposed to reach a high of 100. However, by 8pm that should be down a few degrees.

By that time it will be Fresno hot IN Fresno. 100 or 99 depending on which network is reporting it. Too darn hot for me either way.

Not as bad as Phoenix hot.

and I can add that Nashville might not be quite as hot, but they have 150% humidity, which probably makes it worse.
