climate control **** not working but temp control does
Hey folks,
TLDR: climate **** wasn't working on one side fixed by replacing entire front bezel KL3Z-18842-BDD
just picked up a 2020 F150 5.0 King Ranch, having a peculiar issue with the climate control ****. Drivers climate control **** doesn't change temp, passengers does I'm able to get auto temp on driver's **** or dual on pass. the kicker is I can fully control drivers temp via the touch screen. I believe this rules out blend door issues which seems to pop up no matter what I search.
I've tried to reset the system holding power and right seek no change, did factory reset because the dealer ( bought from Ford) didn't do that on sale, and disconnected the battery for 20min no fix.
last software version was from 2019 so it's on WiFi running updates now.
looking for ideas, unfortunately I think I'm calling the dealer in the morning hoping they'll take care of some shop time.

I should probably invest in forscan don't have a laptop or tablet... in the interim I continue my hunt for a super 8.8 rear diff cover with drain plug, leaning PPE but that's a separate topic

that do be the way sometimes, heard back from the Ford dealer this morning service seems to know what part they need based on what I've described here and will order it and get me in. once it's fixed I'll report back.

thanks for reaching out, dealer so far has been great, called the sales rep he apologized said they'd take care of it. He spoke to service they claim to know what part I need based on my description, service manager called me Friday to book me in as the parts in. I've got family coming to town this week so we've booked in for two weeks from now.

resolved: got to the dealer today they replaced the entire front bezel as the **** is integrated at no cost to me PN: KL3Z-18842-BDD while irritating at least it is working now.
onto the next frustration power running boards aren't taking grease asked the tech to try grease them while I was there, told me the pins are seized and would need replacing, these running boards were certainly not greased as part of the pre-sale inspection because the grease nipples were corroded and I had to replace them. Honestly with the running boards not maintain the out setting in between ignition cycles I may just delete them, maybe I can find fixed brackets for the step. IF boards went back out when park was selected and fold when driving that'd be perfect.
