My Dell laptop is not playing well with the AE software. What laptops are some of you using? Time for a change.

What is yours doing.
When I first got AE the USB cable was bad AE would not identify the truck some times I replaced it. No more issues.

Takes a couple times to start ,connect and indicates USP port problem. Change ports and no change. ID the truck issue, never thought about the cable. May try that.

Also check the cigarette lighter fuse it also connects to the OBD2 PORT.

Fuse is good, BTDT a few times. Getting a new cable from AE is buying another unit entirely.

I was having intermittent issues with my module. The plug in the back was making intermittent contact. I sent it back and they sent me a reconditioned unit. I don't recall what the cost was. When I received the replacement, I cut a ring out of a plastic soda bottle and used it as shrink tube to retain a loop in the cord. I then cut the bottom off of another soda bottle and passed the USB through it and heat shrunk it onto the module. The plug in the back of the module is now protected by the bottle.
