I want to replace the PCV valve because it's dirty and leaking air into the crankcase, which I believe is bad... right? When I blow into it, air flows through. So I bought a new one, but it does the same thing... though it leaks less than the one I had. I went back to the store and tried another one, and it also leaks. Is that normal, or should I try a different store?
Leaking air into the CC? Their job is to allow air to be drawn from the CC into the intake thus the name "positive crank ventilation" valve. Its basically a orifice of an engineered size and a check valve built into it. Being its a OEM one id say your good to go, if its was a china bomb special Id say go get a ford one.
It flows fine in the green direction, but it shouldn't allow air the other way, right? Because that's what's happening, it's leaking a little, I can feel it. I've seen many videos saying it shouldn't leak at all.
