2019 F350. When I first bought the truck the ac was like ice. Set it to 67-68 on the auto climate and would keep it nice and comfortable. I got in a small rear end crash and busted the front AC condenser which was replaced when the truck was fixed.
The last few summers on really hot days it seems to struggle. I keep having to lower it to 63 or 64 to get any decent cool out of it. If I take it off auto climate and blast the cold on max, it’s not like bone chilling like it once was.
If I pop the hood and feel the line going into the cab it’s cold but not ice like my 2018 f350.
is there a temp sensor inside that may need a cleaning or maybe I need a drain and refill due to a small leak in the system somewhere
Was the condenser replaced properly? The last time I messed with an AC system, if any component was replaced, the hoses going to it were recommended to be replaced as well to prevent leaks (get new seals in them). If these weren't replaced, there's a possibility you have a slow leak by your condenser that is causing your AC system to discharge and not function as well.
Depending on how thorough the person replacing it was, they may not have fully evacuated the system or recharged it properly.
the AC system uses a specific amount of freon.....and a lot of shops use a machine that extracts old freon and reuses it......this could result in air and moisture being entrapped in the recovered freon...and...there is a loss of calculated freon just in the volume of the lines and gauges...one of my guage sets takes 6 ozs just to fill the lines and guage manifold....point being you can loose freon volume goal easy aside from the use of contaminated freon.
best bet is to have the old freon evacuated....system vacume tested....then refilled with fresh freon calculated by weight factoring in the few onces the guage set will consume.
Also might want to investigate if the recirculate feature is stuck open and resulting in always sucking in external air.
my 19 seems to be stuck open and after trying to forscan it closed with no success I’m ready to block the vents coming in ….if I want fresh air I’ll crack a window…..apparently ford has a mode that opens vent air periodically and maybe the open switch sticks open .
I think the line not being ice cold entering the cab seems to be a good indication it’s a bit low. Probably a small leak. I checked the cabin filter and it was clean. Changed it out a few years ago.
I’ll be dropping the truck on Monday at the place who did the body work to have it looked at
