Dana 44 Spindle Stud Nuts

Is there any appreciable difference between the original nuts used to hold the spindle of a front open knuckle Dana 44 onto the knuckle and these 7/16-20 lug nuts? They look very similar to the rusty ones i took off and have the same thread pitch.

they look similar but they're not. They're a grade 8 nut with a shallower rounded edge. normally they're locking but I don't remember if these were or not. mine are always used so it's hard to tell.
