I have a 2017 Ford F-250 Lariat Diesel, which has undergone numerous upgrades. I'm reaching out for recommendations on upgrading my stock horn. I'm keeping all options open
For loud, or less loud? my 95 sounds like a wounded goose'ssss, my 04 horn makes people get out of the way, wish train horns didnt have to have air tank, riding along.
I've had buddies buy those amazon horns, they sound worse than the wounded goose horn on my 95, I can just see a fella rolling down his window to stick a battery impact out and try to keep driving...that'll work out well.
I agree, my kids laugh at my horn. I have a 2017 and it is weaker than the 2008 Mazda 6 we have. It's almost embarrassing. I have not checked but I just assumed one of them failed. I am assuming there are two?

I know for 2017 there were two for a dual-note setup, one failed on my wife's 2017 and the service writer at the dealer tried to say nothing was wrong. I asked if I needed to play a sound clip for him of what it sounded like before, and suddenly they were replacing it with the new single-horn unit that was as loud, if not louder, than the original. Turns out there was an issue where the dual-horn setup would get water in one of them and fail.
OP I would suggest that one of your horns has failed and needs to be replaced.
The one on my 17 failed a long time ago I really don’t remember what it sounded like. The horn is actually needed for programming as different honks signal acknowledgement. That’s how we discovered mine so I guess I’m not much of a honker!
We replaced it with one from a Buick LeSabre and it sounds good. I always thought Fords had weak horns and GM sounded good. I want one that sounds like my grandpa’s Olds 98 did!
