Mine has been rebuilt more than once and is needing to be replaced.
I was hoping somebody had a recommendation for a modern replacement.
The ones I see for sale are parts only and the asking price for a used unit are outrageous
Why do you think it needs replaced? You can pretty much rebuild them as many times as you need to. Every 5 years or so isn't that far-fetched. Rebuild with parts straight from Holley for best results. I wouldn't change it unless I knew for sure it was bad.
What is wrong that is causing the need for replacement. That's a solid carburetor and almost everything on it can be repaired or combned with a parts carburetor to make a good, useable unit.
If you must have a replacement carburetor, a rebuilt unit is available through Rock Auto as Autoline C716. I think I would use that over the new units available on Ebay.
I put a Brazilian Universal carburetor on mine that seems okay. I have not driven it much though. Mine had a wrong carburetor but I had the same problem finding a Holly. Sky high prices for unknown condition.
