Instead of rewriting everything I was hoping you might check out the 2 threads below.
The first thread goes though all the measurements of my flywheel etc. and the ultimate clutch selection.

The second thread goes through the current issues with the install.

Any assistance would be much appreciated!
Now from the picture of the PP fingers on the bearing they look to be too long and why they are hitting the collar or whatever that part it was pressed onto is called.
If the fingers were shorter and hit the bearing in the center or like the picture that someone posted you will see they are nowhere that close to the center of the bearing.
I can only see 1 way, well maybe 2, how to fix this and both involve removing the transmission or motor.
You have the wrong PP even that the disc part is right the fingers are not. Think is I dont know how you can check if another PP will work or not without installing it?
Maybe measure the distance between the fingers when bolted to the flywheel as the fingers get sucked in and sitting on the bench and see if the replacement has a wider space between them.
The other is a little Rube Goldburg but not to bad in my book and I would think of doing this.
If there is a way to measure by how much the fingers need to be shorten you could grind them down a little so they hit closer to the bearing face center and away from the center of the bearing and that collar.
That is if all else is good with the clutch linkage and assy.
Good luck
