Thinking outside the box, is it possible to blow compressed air into where the oil filter mounts and maybe blow the crap off the pick up screen, it might buy you some time...
FWIW, back in 1991, we had a ford crate motor installed when the truck had 96,000 in its 302, because of rod knock.

I am thinking outside the box, if the oil pickup was plugged it would have no PSI from start up not be ok and then drop as it gets up to temp - this is a sure sign of worn bearings.
Also he said no noise from the lifters / rockers when cold and the PSI is higher but when the motor gets up to temp and the PSI drops the lifters & rockers make noise.
Again bad bearings in my book and no way around it.

Not neccesarily Dave. Some "materials" will get sucked into the screen and not come out. The increased velocity of the gear pump will suck in more debris and choke the output.
I hsd a beautiful two tone 72 from the carolinas I experidnced this with.
oils of the past and poor combustion left engines full of sludge, the sludge when combined with modern oils and heat would start to break down and move around.
I remember pulling a 289 apart that was so full of sludge thet only places it wasnt was where the pistons snd rods traveled.
I dont doubt the engine is worn out at this point but....
Older guys might remember adding automatic transmission oil to a hot engine right before an oil change to help clean out the engine.
the vehicle would be warmed up and half quart of ATF added to the engine and left to idle for about ten minutes.
This might be more of a "northern" thing because of high humidity.
never the less it did work.
Some guys wouldnt do it, their logic was this stuff is coming loose and could possibly do more damage.

This old guy dose this but I add a full qt and let it idle while I get the tools together for the change.
Now I also knew what the inside of the motor looked like as I pulled the side & valve covers and oil pan to replace the leaking gaskets so they were cleaned before I installed them.
So this ATF is more to clean the oil passages than sludge sitting in the oil pan or under side of the valve cover.
He can try the ATF flush but I dont think it will bring the PSI up when the motor gets up to temp but thats me.

I don't think any harm will come from doing an ATF flush. Might help clean the screen some. The best thing about hot oil drops is low viscosity hot oil flows out faster sweeping out any suspended sludge. The cold drop can't do that and more sludge likely builds on the pan bottom. Comes out very slowly when cold and will be dripping weeks later. I know because I recently had to do a cold drop when I discovered a fast oil leak coming from my oil cooler. So had to shut down right away.
The OP hasn't checked back and hasn't answered the question about how he is monitoring oil pressure. A new reliable mechanical guage or the stock guage. He did say zero oil pressure but how does he know? The oil pressure sending units have been a problem for Ford stock oil pressure guages as when warm they read low. It's a temperature window. After 86 they went to a fake guage that reads mid normal if there was 5 psi or more. Basically an idiot light in guage format.
