Short slip yoke

I have a 59 f100 and I put a 302 with an AOD trans.I had to custom build my drive shaft,I used the 59 shaft but used a slip yoke from a 79 Ford that fit the AOD.I may have been off on my measurements. I have 2.25 inches Slid into the transmission on level ground .will this be enough for axle travel ?

Jack up the body of the vehicle letting the rear axle hang loose. Then check how far the yoke slipped out of the transmission. Not foolproof, but should answer your question.
