I have a 2016 F550. The blinker flashes three times when you lightly press it for a momentary signal but when you push it down all the way to activate the turn signal until it is cancelled by turning the vehicle it only flashes once. I have already replaced the turn signal switch and the clock spring with no luck. Any help would be appreciated.
C'mon guys, we all know the answer is he's low on blinker fluid! Amazon's got a special on it right now!
J/k. I honestly am not sure, but I do agree with the above, this sounds like an issue in one of the modules. If it were the switch it either wouldn't blink or would just stay on, and if it were an issue with the clockspring it wouldn't do anything at all since that is just a pass-through for the signal and doesn't affect what signal goes through (other than potentially completely blocking it). Now WHAT in the module could cause it? No idea.

The features that are activated with the MFS do not pass through the clockspring. Only steering wheel switches and the airbag do.
The MFS and the clock spring plug into the SCCM. From there, everything is computer networking. New generation complicated stuff.

Ah. I have only replaced a few clock springs in newer vehicles, and the MFS plugged into it because the harness was part of it for whatever reason (only one plug at the bottom of the column). Wasn't sure how these ones were built.
Thanks, We are still looking into it. I will let you know what we find. I was just hoping someone has run into this issue and found it to be something simple. I noticed that on the back of the clock spring was something that spun and i am assuming that would communicate the position of the steering wheel to cancel the signal once a turn was made. Seems I may be wrong.

Figured it out. The module had to be reprogramed. The scanner I have could not reprogram it because it needed the data off of the old module that we did not have. A shop near by helped us out.
Thanks for the help.
So, was one of the modules just replaced and this issue ensued? That would have been critical to disclose up front and would have gotten you the correct answer right away.
We replaced the steering column headlight & turn signal Control Switch and the clock spring. Apparently when you do that you still have to reprogram it. We did not replace a module that I am aware of unless the module is built into that switch and it may be. Also the issue occurred and that's when we replaced this switch. So it's possible the last one just needed to be reprogramed to begin with.
