Lifelong Excursion Journey
I have a Green 2001 7.3l turbo diesel Ford excursion 4x4 limited with 264,000 miles as of June 2025,
I have named this Truck FjordJungar, Do with that what you will.
now there's a bunch of stuff I don't know about excursions in general, and to add onto that definitely not about my new modified excursion,
The modifications in the excursion to my knowledge and the previous owners knowledge are a bank's power tuned engine and transmission,
A Banks power control module,
A Banks power cold air intake,
Rancho shock's
A three inch country lift, in my opinion i think it's a leveling kit instead and one of the previous owners didn't know the difference? I'm not sure.
It has a aftermarket sway bar, I'm not sure from where.
It has oversized 34" by 12.5" tires with aftermarket rims and absolutely terrible rubber tires
There's a few other aftermarket things that I'll add on later, as I work more on my truck I'll learn more about it and so will you as I update this thread along the way.
I bought my excursion on Monday from my brother who bought it a couple months ago from the third owner with new f250 mirrors that were already mounted but never hooked up via the wiring.
I'm trying to get the wires hooked up and after researching online I have a pretty good idea what I was supposed to do, but upon trying I discovered my door in my excursion doesn't have anywhere where I can plug in my mirrors. I know upon you wonderful people inspecting this thread you'd probably find an easy solution as maybe just buying a new adapter and using that to attach the mirrors to the truck.
Can any of you please look at some of the details I provided and help me fix this problem I seem to have, thank you very much in advance.
What I'm holding in my hand is the mirror connector. The extra adapter plugs hanging out is for my speaker and something else which I don't know.
Where I assumed would be the plug in for the mirror is not there entirely, and there's no where to plug it in on the inside as well.
The one I'm holding plugs into my speaker, it also plugs into the other black plug in. I don't know why or what it does. I also don't know what the white one is for, but with a little of thinking I'm maybe assuming it's the original mirror plug in for the old excursion mirrors and my current f250 mirrors simply require a different adapter.
Here's the actual mirror itself.

Right, thanks for the assistance as I probably am going to try and get the signal and running lights up and operating, I watch a few videos of some guys doing the same.
02+ have rectangular connector. no adapter needed
2. drivers sill plate, wire harness running to rear of truck. Solid brown wire. I typically run from this location to the passenger door. Under the carpet.

I'm also in the market for some all terrain tires that aren't as massive as the Ones I have now, any suggestions with what brand and/ size tires I should go for?
Also after driving the truck for another week I've made note that my current fuel pump is not new or aftermarket, and is definitely worn out and needs replacing, my budget is a little low for the pump but are there any long lasting aftermarket diesel fuel pumps for the 01 Ex, that can keep up with my cold air intake and eliminate acceleration lag?
Rear is 24” factory height.
I imagine you’ll be ~26”
-Front Axle: looks like factory leafs with 3 Add-A-Leafs added
-Rear Axle: factory G codes and block AND 2” lift block (smaller one without ledge). I hate when people stack blocks. Not ideal setup.
