Anyone recognize this shifter ****?

I bought a 1966 N-6000 Ford dump truck for parts. It was used for snow plowing. The former owner, who has since passed away, installed this transmission right behind the stock Spicer 5 speed. It looks like he removed the rear axle and springs, installed the unit with a shorter driveshaft, and then put the rear back in it. All the factory rivets on the spring hangars were drilled out and replaced with stainless steel nuts and bolts. I am just wondering what this added transmission is.

Its an auxiliary transmission, with under drive, direct, and over drive. Very nice thing to have IMHO. Look at the case for an ID plate

You can't reliably identify a transmission from the ****.

There were lots of makers and dozens of models. There's usually a tag on them and you'll know for sure.
