Yes, same stuff. But then that is going to get started the yellow metal debate. The best stuff to run is a synthetic gear oil. It's not cheap but it sure makes it easier to shift in cold weather. Walmart has it cheap.

That's what I just put the diff's on my 18 Subaru Outback the other day.
Because of the yellow metal I use Red Line M-90 lube it also is not cheap.
It also helped shifting the NP435 and it is what my Advance Adapter over drive calls for.

Harbor Freight has 6 ton stands that work well, I seem to recall get a car high enough to get the tranny out on the HF $50. tranny jack. The white and red one.
Mine are 6 ton too, they do reduce the throw to get to axle height. The nice thing about going under the tires with blocks is there's no throw to worry about. WYSIWYG. If you aren't high enough after your best measurements and you are using a one jack operation, just let the tranny down on some dunnage and pull the jack out and add some blocks.

Getting the T18 or NP435 out from under not on a jack is not the real problem it is when it is bac under and need to get the trans back on the jack!
You dont have room and because you are laying down you cant lift it back on the jack.
And yes I do have a HF trans jack think it is the white one still to high to get the trans out from under on the jack.

There is a more expensive HF tranny jack that will let the tranny sit lower, and maybe an attachment to attach to a normal floor jack, that might work.
I guess you could roll the tranny off the taller jack, onto a piece of plywood and then slide it out... But that might be hard to do the reverse...
What does the trans weigh without the bell housing attached?
I can tell you the 3 speed over drive (SROD?) is not as heavy as the 2 listed above.
I would not wat it to fall on me but it is not that bad from what remember when I pulled it from my parts truck but it did not have the motor or nose on the truck t the time.
Max when I first saw the trans on the jack I was like why it is sitting sideways
Then read it is the Subaru trans. You after seeing the jack mine may be the same as I only used 1 time over a year ago then pushed it under a table and stuff in front of it

It's not sideways, that 5mt AWD mounts in behind the engine. It weights 125lbs. You can see one of the black axle seals (left front axle) just back of the bell housing case.

Oh I know it was a
When I first saw the picture and the way the throw out fork was I was sideways?
Then seen where the axle shafts go and a few other things and knew it was not a Ford trans

For weight of a T18 call one of the yards on car-part.com that ships parts. They will know the weight. IIRC the T18 with the bell housing is around 200 pounds. Play safe!
