E40D Swap (novice)

Question E40D Swap (novice)

I never attempted a trans swap before so here we go. I have a 1994 F-250 IDI N/A with a transmission code of RF-FTOP-7006-BB. I bought a transmission from a guy claiming it was on a 7.3 IDI turbo from the city rebuilt with 30k on the rebuild with the transmission code RF-F7UP-7006-AA. AT the time I thought I was solid.. After buying it and doing some digging seems like this trans i bought is a 97+. I haven't found a definitive answer... I am assuming i will need a solenoid pack, park sensor and a 4 bolt torque converter to make this swap happen... Any advice helps I don't want to spend 5k+ on a rebuild.... also any links to a good low stall TC for stock engine, she's gonna be stock drivetrain forever.

If it's an E4OD from a '97 power stroke, that's good. There were a lot of upgrades in '95 and then again in '97. You're right, just swap in your old solenoid pack if it's good and a 4 stud diesel converter and run 'er.

Okay will do. The trans was broken before I bought the truck, I plan to buy solenoid new along with a low stall tc
