I've done a bunch of searching, but can't seem to find the answer to this....will a 2025 XLT (no XLT premium package) w/o remote tailgate release, come with the dampener installed?
I'm in the process of removing items off of my '17 to be moved to my '25 when it arrives. If the new truck will have a dampener on it, I'll leave it on the old truck. I searched here on the forum, thru the build and price site and on my window sticker but can't seem to find the answer.
I have a 2024 with the XLT premium package so I can't answer your question specifically. However, I can't imagine Ford would leave out the dampener with the remote tailgate option on the non-premium XLT. Otherwise, the tailgate would free fall against the cables every time it's opened remotely.
Hopefully someone with your exact year and model will chime in to confirm it.

I convinced myself that only trucks w/remote tailgate release get the dampener. My '25 probably won't have it either. I had added the dampener to my '17, so I swapped it back to stock and will move the dampener to my new truck. Thanks.

I completely misread your original post and thought you said that your new truck ~will~ have the remote tailgate release.
I agree with your conclusion that if it doesn't have remote tailgate release it likely won't have the dampener, so you were wise to remove it from your previous truck.
Enjoy the new truck! I went from a 2011 F250 Extended Cab 6.2L to a 2024 F250 Crew Cab 7.3L and couldn't be happier!
