Test drove a lightning

I just wanted to swing in here and say that I test drove a lightning. That was the most fun I've had driving a vehicle maybe.. ever? I just had this perpetual grin on my face. Every time I floored it, I looked at the sales guy and said "Why????". I've owned pickups most of my life. To be driving in an F150 that goes that quick.. my brain just couldn't make sense of it. You guys are having some fun over here. Maybe I'll join you someday.

Most everyone who test drives one has the same reaction. The massive amount of acceleration and throttle responsiveness can be shocking to someone who experiences it the first time.

The quiet and smooth ride of a Lightning also amazes anyone who drives one.

It’s not for everyone but if you aren’t towing heavy, towing long distances and have ability to charge at home it’s a good choice. With Farley arranging partnership with Tesla to use their Super Charger network road trip charging has become easy and reliable if needed. In almost 2 years of Lightning ownership I only needed to charge away from home once, and that was for 10 minutes. Everyday start fully charged after being plugged in overnight.

The massive battery and ability to use it as a silent generator increases its utility.

Love this! That instant torque is such a game-changer, right? It’s wild how something that big can move that fast — feels like it shouldn’t be possible. The grin you mentioned is exactly what got me hooked too. Hope you end up joining the Lightning crew soon — it’s a blast every time you hit the pedal!

You're not lying, holy cow these things are rockets. Just drove my new one home today. There's a section of hwy I was able to plant the skinny pedal which then proceeded to plant me back in the seat. I thought my old truck (2013) with a 5.0 and custom tune was fast, this lightning will run circles around it.

I've only ever driven 1 other vehicle with like acceleration, a Ferrari and I'm not joking, much smaller car and much lighter.

Truck performance is insane!
