Im trying to figure out what injectors are in my truck. I have a 2000 f450 7.3 with the Zf6. My ecm code is xc3f. When I got my hydra programmer, you have to program it to your ecm. When I put my ecm code in it stated I have single shot injectors. I've been told any thing from 99 up has split shots. Mainly I've been interested in installing a set of 160/0's. I have heard that some international motors use a 160cc single shot injector for higher torque t444. Being a f450 did they put these injector in these trucks. For the record I'm practically an idiot when it comes to all these injectors so any advice would be great. Thanks
The motor is a certified Jasper Rebuild aswel. Although, I dont know much about it. Other than it was replaced in 2019.
your truck should be running AD/AE injectors. you can pull a valve cover and post a pic of the top of the injector solenoid. Other than that, you'll have to wait for one of the guys with more experience....I only know enough to get the fires started
I just noticed somehow this thread got posted twice...you'll probably want to delete the duplicate
Thanks for the response brother. Assuming it might be an Ad/AE injector. What are the specs on those. Such as reservoir size and shot type. Is the AE supposed to be the long lead injector
AD injectors I believe are around 140cc and yes AE is the LL injector. and they are split shot
the only other thing I know off the top of my hear is that the early 99 used the older/ smaller injectors. I'm not familiar with the 450 but reckon they follow the typical 7.3 rule unless it was a HO version like you mentioned.
Maybe you got the golden child but unless someone confirms, I don't think we'll know until you pop a valve cover off. if someone replaced them at some point it could be harder to tell, IDK
Brother I really do appreciate the replys. And yeah to truly know I'd definetly have to pop the valve cover off. With this truck its definetly been an adventure, being an f450 there just not as much information out there. Hell my 4 inch straight pipe was never meant to go on a cab and Chassis so I wound up coming up with a wonky tail pipe. It truly does look rather cool. Almost like an axle dump. Anyway again thanks for the info and hopefully someone else might have aime more knowledge on the 450's and up. My only thinking is its possible a HO with some bigger sticks cause they put these motors all the way up to the 750's but I dont know.
One other note, I think I read with the 90cc injectors PHP only let's you run up to 80hp. My available tunes go up to 140. Maybe I'll email PHP aswell.
Stock injectors in any F450/550 will be the same as any stock F250/350.
Ford did not increase the power potential of the F450 or F550 but the ratings were the same as the pickups. Later year (after the 6.0L) F450/550s were DERATED since abuse is prevalent in fleets where drivers don't often own the vehicle.
Yeah that's kinda what I was thinking. Did you see the image I sent from PHP software though, it states on there my ecm is tuned for some single shots. I did send them a message, unsure when I'll get a response. Anyway, thanks for the response, man I'll let you know with anything else I find. I'm going to say PHP will know exactly what the specs are as they are as they wrote the tune.
thanks for the response brother. This is actually a duplicate post I guess. Dont quite know what happend Ive got another with a few more replies and some more info. Definetly check that out. My main question is why the ecm I have according to php (youll see the pic an understand) states Ive got single shot injectors. Maybe a typo on there part. The truck is definetly clankier, also I have the option of the 140 hp tune so they couldnt by 90cc singles as you can only run up to 80hp with those. Again thanks the response. Ill probally try to delete this thread since its a duplicate. If I can figure out how
