Hey guys I have replaced my entire transmission and all new Mishi Moto trans cooler.New transmission lines. I have within 900 miles shot out three transmissions starting with 3rd gear it is slamming into a third consistently then eventually it gets a shutter and then it stops shifting to where I have to lift the gas and get back on to change gears it is an 4R100 put in at a Ford dealership and about to go onto my fourth. I am throwing a P0603 code after replacing crankshaft position, sensor wheel speed sensor, IDM and a starter it wasn’t throwing the code before but now it is everything that I have gone through and went through with my master mechanic at work, says that my PCM is bad but when I sent it out, they tested it multiple times over three days and consistently got back to back passes where my PCM is good and my PCM looks like it is pretty new but within the last three years, but I have personally only owned a truck for going on too. I’ve done a lot of work to the truck. I’m about to do a front and rebuild and fix my 4 x 4, but I cannot figure out my transmission issue and I’ve been dealing with it for a good portion of a year now I’ve only been able to put about 7500 miles on the truck in the time I’ve had it most of which was on the way back to my house from out of state where I got it back to Michigan and I drove it around for a couple of months and it has sat on the dealership parking lot and ever since -13 days that I had it back and was driving it after transmission replacement. The most miles that I got out of it was when I had put it in myself the first time and I had it changed out the stock trans cooler for the mishimoto and new stock trans lines I had also put a triple desk, triple bearing full force torque converter in it and it lasted 364 miles. I did not put the upgraded tour converter back in after getting it rebuilt because I was told I would void my warranty, so I put a 100% stock unit back in the truck under warranty which I did not do my master transmission technician at Work did the second and third time which I have not made a any further. I think the miles were 234 and this last one only made it about 212 and it’s been sitting on the lot for about five months, waiting to get back into the shop.
These transmissions are coming from Ford and being installed by the dealership, is that right? If it does turn out to be tuning related I'd be curious to know who's tunes can shell a factory reman in 300 miles. Are there any parts that are being reused from One transmission to another? Just curious if there's some kind of common denominator.
Just so I understand. It shifts fine, right after the new transmission is installed and shifts get worse until it won't shift anymore? Maybe some info on what fails will help. A brief summary of events?
I assume this is on a truck. Do you have anyone nearby that has a good pcm you can try?
If they are failing that fast maybe your TC isn't locking up, maybe bad wiring your going to have to check for codes and vitals of the tranny to see what's going on.
Something ain't right here...you could have the worst tranny in the world and it would survive 2-300 miles unless it's just being completely abused somehow....
The guy works at a shop/ tranny shop and has a master tranny tech. Ford has also installed a new tranny.....but has also been able to drive 7500 miles in the past 2 yrs of ownership.
I also don't care what tuning he would be using, that's not going to cause it to fail in this little of time if at all...I have run the superchips and old TS chip with canned tunes (for a long time before getting PHP tunes pre Hydra) they aren't as bad as people say.
we'll see if this guy even makes it back....I smell the BS all the way over here...or a bunch of info is being left out, IDK.
