With the weekend coming up soon, I am looking to replace my passenger side UVCH with a good one due to an unknown issue triggering a p0273 code for injector #5 that I mentioned in another thread. As part of my troubleshooting plan I plan to investigate and make a replacement. I don't mind reusing the stock valve cover as another poster said that they can be reused so long as you retorque correctly.
I am open to factory or aftermarket. I just don't want to be waiting forever/overpaying/driving around to patronize my local Ford dealer.
What are my best options? Sick of reading Amazon reviews.
Cool, looked at Rifraf and ordered OEM through Amazon. Should be here tomorrow but they lie.
Hopefully it's here Saturday.
Hopefully you receive a legit unit as there's lots of counterfeits out there on the interwebs. When I did our 2 trucks last year I bought the Motorcraft CM-4884 units, as they have the revised clips on them so you don't have to do the fitty cent mod. I went ahead and did it for extra security...you just have to cut the quarters down further so they fit. I got them from a Ford dealership in Tennessee I believe.
Ok I am getting confused. I do worry about genuine items from Amazon based on what I have heard but have have never experienced that.
I just cancelled my Amazon order.
Is it:
"Motorcraft CM-4884" that I want or "F81Z-9D930-AB" Thanks!
while part numbers may be correct, the scammers make things look real anymore but they aren't. Amazon is not a trustworthy place to buy Ford products among many others.
You would be better off buying from Rockauto and get a code from the RA thread, but you'd have to wait until early next week
International, Motorcraft, and Alliant would all be good. Also keep in mind that you have to buy the gasket and the wiring; I'm pretty sure they are sold individually/ separately
