Well invested a lot of money today without any success.
Changed the radiator, flushed the system, put in new antifreeze coolant, and cleaned the condenser in front of the radiator and nothing changed.
The only thing improved is that the temp indicator returns quicker to normal level at idle.
Also checked the timing of the engine and pressure tested the coolant system
There is one thing that also I can not place.
When driving there is coming up a loud howling from I think the front of the engine.
It start at a low level is then getting louder and louder for a view seconds, then it goose away when the rpm drops below 1700. Again this is not constant but it repeats, it doesn’t matter if the engine is cold or hot. Sometimes I drive for one hour and it is not present, other times just a view minutes after driving. I don’t know if this is some bearing or other vacuum problem and if this has something to do with the temp.
I need a new AC condenser because my replacement is also broken, do you now anyone how ships from the US into Switzerland, I asked most part suppliers I good find but they don’t.
I posted on your other thread too but here goes. I have a 99 4.0 with the same problem. It overheats about 2 or 3 minutes after i start it. It stays hot for 10-15 seconds and then returns to normal temp. I heard of a valve that sends hot water back to the block before it circulates throught the radiator (to help warm the engine quicker). I dont remember where i read that but i think it was this site. Well anyways check that out and see if there even is one on your truck. If this helps let e know so i can try to fox mine.
