74 F100 wouldnt shift. D stays in 1st. Manual 2nd gear works
Cammed engine makes about 13" vacuum. Too low for the vacuum modulator, so i thought that was the problem. Removed the pin from the modulator, now it shifts to second at about 4500 RPMS.
shouldnt it shift very quick without modulator?
Kickdown cable is removed so that isnt the problem,
If no modulator, then the trans sees no vacuum, like would be at WOT ... and would only shift when the governor said to, because of high rpms .... essentially acting just like the kick down was shoved all the way, even when it ain't.
4,500 rpms sounds about right for a factory set up governor.
