SPARK PLUGS

I bought a set of Motorcraft Spark Plug wires for my 1985 7.5L engine. I am having trouble getting them to "Snap" over the plug. The plugs are practically inaccessible as it is without having trouble installing the wires and applying pressure to make sure they are properly down on the tip. I read where any lube is a No-No but just trying it on an old plug to see what happens the new wire snaps right on. Any suggestions?

Wherever you read that no lube statement was incorrect
You DO add some silicone dielectric lube to the inside of the plug boots at every tune up
Your new Motorcraft plug wires come with a small amount of the stuff inside, I add a small amount more
I use a pea sized chunk and then swirl it around inside the boot with a pocket screwdriver
They sell that special silicone grease in tubes at AutoZone or you'll need about 3-4little packs of the stuff

I use the CRC brand dielectric grease in the cheese wizz can. Squirt a little in and swirl the tip around inside the rubber boot and slip the wire on.

I always just sprayed some 'Wire Dryer' spray into the boot before snapping over the plug.
