So I recently did a manual swap on my truck since I lost drive gear, but got stumped at the driveshaft since it’s too short. I need some help finding the correct driveshaft dimensions that I need to complete my truck, can’t figure out how long it needs to be since there’s so many options and can’t find any list of them. I have a 92 F-150 supercab short bed 2WD, has a 4.9 paired with the new to me M5R2. Any help will be very much appreciated, need to get her running.
You probably won't find one in stock form, as that was probably a custom order from factory in stock form.
You now have a custom truck and will probably need a custom drive shaft.
Learn how to measure driveshaft lengths correctly, then find one. Or better yet, get a shop to make it.
Doesn't have to be a ford, I put a 1977 camero driveshaft in my 1964 M100 after a C6 trans swap, same length.
I have an ext cab, short bed 4.9/M5OD. It is a 139" wheel base as delivered by Ford. The DS is two piece as I recall, I can try to measure it for you or send just the VIN.
You just need to retube the front half, not a big deal. Could always grab two alu shafts from something in the yard and have a good local driveline shop make you one.
