Auto climate controls

How hard can it be to program climate controls that actually work on 2024 ?
I am constantly fiddling with them , as the outside temperature comes up you have to keep
crank the temperature up as it turns on the AC and is blowing cold air.
Then the reverse happens and you have to keep cranking it down as it keeps turning the heat on.
Right Now the outside temperature comes up is 55° I have the climate set at 75° and it is blowing cold air,
I turned the ac off and it instantly gets warm and muggy.

My 19 Taraus is slightly better but not much. Rode in a friends new Honda odessy and it’s not much better either.

Ok rant over.

It works based off temperature and humidity sensors in the cab, along with readings from outside. Honestly? I have a bigger issue in the spring/fall with the defrosters. It gets humid in my area, so I am always running the defrosters for a good 10 minutes before I put it back on Auto. Otherwise it does pretty good keeping it a steady temperature in the cab.

Last year I started noticing the same; like in the morning when still more on the 'chilly' side (humor me) it might display 65 outside temp with temp set to 70 and it would be blasting full cold AC, didn't matter if windshield was in the sun or not. Have to turn up a few degrees more to get it to stop. Then as it warms up outside, turn it back down because it's now 72 out and HVAC is blowing hot air.

For the first year of the truck, never noticed this and it seemed to be working great. In fact, I remarked to the wife how the HVAC was great and never needed to be touched, it just did its thing. Now, it's almost like an interior sensor is off. When I started to notice this last summer I did some digging (may have even made a similar post), but couldn't find any info on interior temp/humidity sensors at the time. Maybe now someone knows more?

Yeah I don’t know how it thinks, it’s 62° outside and I have it at 68° and it’s almost to warm.
Last night I had it set at 75° and it was blowing cold air.

I have a 2024 Lariat and one of the main reasons was for the auto climate control which so far I'm not that impressed with. I'm getting more used to how it works with different outside weather conditions. Still figuring it out but it's definitely not set it and forget it like other vehicles I've owned.

Here is an overview of the system, your problem probably is with one of the sensors.

My dealer performed a “recalibrate HVAC control module” and it seems smarter than before, having to constantly fiddle with the temperature ****.

Any chance you've noticed an inconsistency in the strength of the air coming out of the vents regardless of the fan setting?

I wonder if there is a way to monitor the interior temp/humidity and sunload sensors to see how they are reporting via forscan. That would help determine which (if any) are bad, and if I replacement is needed or perhaps a recalibration of the hvac module of some sort. I played around in there one day looking for them, but there are of course a ton of sensors and wasn't sure which was the correct ones

Whatever happened to a simple thermostat?

Too many engineers are all enamored with what they can build like Mercedes. Why use one part when you can use five?
