One alternator / Two Batteries?

I would like to know the pros & cons of charging 2 new batteries (one deep cycle/one high cranking) with a high output 160A alternator. Do I need a second alternator? Trickle Charger? Where can I get some supplies for this reasonably priced. 99 Expedition 5.4L V8

Thx.

What do you want to do with the two batteries? One I can assume is for cranking the engine, but what would the other be for? This will make a difference in how you set them up.

The other runs audio/video system--couple of 1000w amps, capacitors, neons, 4 screens, stuff like that...

This is probably what you need. If you don't want to buy from these people, use on keywords and do a search in google or yahoo.

I can't seem to get that link to work so go to jcwhitney.com and type in battery isolator in the search box.
