After six years, I finally found the truck of my dreams. I have been looking for a truck back home but after a couple of years I gave up and bought it from california, USA. It´s a F100-56 with a Ford 289 and C4 aut.trans. Most of the truck are original except for the
engine/transm. and the wheels. I would really appreciate some help in the future with tecnical advice and where to find parts. I dont really know where to start my restoration yet because the truck are still on the Atlantic ocean and I have only been looking at it on pictures but I am going to install a heater in the cab and move the shifter from the floor to original column shift. I have the used column sent with the truck. Do you know how to connect it with the C4 and do I need some more parts like gear indicator or
anythimg else??? Sorry for my swenglish (swedish-english).
Thanks. Mats
Don't apologize for your english, it's better than alot of people who live in the USA. Anyway, you can find tons of parts for the 53-56 series trucks. There's www.dennis-carpenter.com. , *** truck parts, www. Vintage-Ford.com, Mac's, Concours parts and many I can't remember. You can try Ebay for stuff also. Look on this site in the store and the classifieds.
Welcome to the forum. Lokar makes a nice kit to connect your column shifter to the C-4. What kind of column is it. You may find it isn't very difficult to fabricate one.
Finding a vendor that won't cheat you on shipping will be your challenge. Shipping will be bad enough without "extra charges" When you get your truck and know what you need, we can direct you to the best vendors.
Mats, Welcome I'm a transplanted Swede who lives in TX. There is another guy on here called The Swede who is from Norrkoping that recently aquired a '56 too. I've seen him posting in the Lightning forums.
Mats,
I sent you an e-mail with some sites on it. Also look here on MotorHaven. Do a search on "Button's & Eddie's Classic Ford Truck Stop". It has a list of various sites for all facets of the project. http://www.geocities.com/eellston/Bu...uckParts.html?

I had a peak at Daryl "Butch 302" Stone's link that he provided to you. There are some suppliers listed in there with no URL. You can do a search for web sites for them as well as I know that some of them do definitely have web sites - like Johns' F-Funhundreds, etc.
Thanks a lot for all information about parts and web sites. My column they are sending together with the truck is an original for aut.trans from-56 so I will try to make it work with my C4. I am going to look for parts on the web sites that you recommended.

Later,
Fergie,
Unbeknownst to you (and everyone else save for Mats), I e-mailed him with numerous sites, including John's F-Fun Hundreds. I did not want to upset the good folk here at FTE/Motorhaven, so I gave them due-dilligence and mentioned them in the text of my reply.
Thanks for keeping a keen and helpful eye out, especially for the new people here.
Welcome Mats, I agree with barry, your english is better than a lot of Americans. Good Luck with your project, the guys on this site are a wealth of information, and very helpful and polite.
