HELP - indicator light on the OD switch is flashing
I have a 95 F250 4x4 Power Stroke with auto trans. When I got in it this moring and started it up, the indicator light on the overdrive switch (on shift handle) was flashing on and off. It is snowing here (8 inch) so I had put the truck in 4 wheel drive when I noticed the light on the shift handle was flashing. Taking the truck out of 4 wheel drive does not stop the flashing, nor does pushing the button at the end of the shifter. I suspect the light was flashing before putting the truck in 4 wheel drive and I didn't notice it. The flashing is steady with no difference in timing.
Any Help would be appreciated.

The speed sensor, on the rear diff is going, shorting or otherwise doing something it shouldn't.
The torque converter is thinking it is slipping, or did slip in one circumstance.
The internal clutches are getting hot, or did get hot in one circumstance.
Until you get the code read, you can't really guess which is which. Any tranny shop will read the codes for you if you can't, and I think auto stores sometimes will too.
