Hey all. The lines on my power steering return (bottom of pump to cooler, back to steering box) rotted out on my 2000 7.3 and need replaced. I got the old stuff out, but didnt realize at the time that the hoses i need, are discontinued by Ford. I ended up cutting the line off at the fitting on the steering box so i could get a socket on it. Wrenches were wrenching and wanted to slip off. This is the part number just for reference: YC3Z-3A713-BA.
That said, I need to know the size of the fitting on the steering box. Also line size would be helpful too, I'm sitting at work and cant measure now. Been browsing for hours and hours and have come up empty handed. I'll attach a picture of the cooler/lines so its known what lines I'm referring to. Thanks in advance. Hopefully this thread can help someone else out later on
I always forget about ebay. Well thats an option I guess. Unfortunately theres the ebay "Goodluck finding this anywhere else" tax on them so I'll keep searching for fitting sizes instead. But good to know. Thanks.
did you try rock auto?
I replaced my lines last year, unfortunately not OEM. I think they were made by Gates. I purchased them years ago.
in your position if you need to get the truck going, I wouldn't hesitate to just go to Napa, Oreilly's, etc.

Yeah I looked at rock auto, they had some (likely) cheapos on there. I went ahead and ordered them because I do need to get it out of my garage lol. Thankfully its not my daily driver. Id still like to make my own lines at some point just for peace of mind. But for now the cheap rock auto stuff will do
For anyone wondering on sizes, this is what I found for the fitting size. ID of the hoses appear to be 7/16.
